[CQ] MFX 1200 Poor Copy Quality when Scanning on Platen or ADF

I cleaned the optics, changed the drum and toner. Prints fine when printing internal print jobs. Scan lamp seems to work OK. Reconnected connected strip wire harness from scanner. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Attached is an example...

First thing I would do is print out some type of internal report to see how the print quality looks. If same results then we different issue such as drum, transfer roller etc

The first post says internal prints look fine.
That being said, I don't work on Muratecs , but I do have a suggestion you may wish to consider:
This looks like the CCD or contact sensor has some elements out. If they were blocked by dust, I think the lines would be black.
If it is possible, try cleaning the connectors that attach to the CCD or contact scanner (maybe give them a good blast of air too in case I'm full of crap), and also if there is a white reference plate, make sure it actually is white.
Otherwise, you may be looking at getting a new CCD assembly or scanner unit (if you have the guts to replace just the contact scanner and you succeed, you are a better person than me).

That's the conclusion I came to. Just told the customer that it's not worth fixing. I SO APPRECIATE YOUR HELP !!!

Time for a new scanner/CCD a'ssy. Not uncommon on that old dog, they were rated for 1000 hours. Part number: D88A005040. Cost is $100.27 from Muratec

That work's about 10% of the time. Due to age, the CCD breaks down, it's a common problem on the 1200.

Have you tried setting the background level? Setting, * , 0, 9, background level, enter.
