Zebra first label sometimes only prints left side

    ZTC ZD421-203dpi ZPL

Sometimes, the first page only prints the left side of the label.
Its always the first label of the job, if it happens.

    Print speed has been adjusted.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Looks like the print head is not tensioned enouh on the one side. There are 2 adjustment screws on the top of the print head with springs. Tighten down on the side that is weak or missing.

i only see a screw with some grounding cables.

The tension on the print head comes from the metal bar you can see on the pictures. It pushed the head down in the centre.

On top of the heater head there are tension adjustments for the heater head/print head. underneath the top cover/ Sometimes the latch that holds the print head down onto the ribbon becomes weak. You can try to wedge something under the latch to hold it tighter to the ribbon. They tend to lose their hold after long term use.

The heater head is in the pictures i shared…there are no tension adjustments…and the printer is only 1 year old, so no long term use.
