    [Jamming] DP-3510 Jamming J-40

    We have a DP-3510 (250K) that seems to have a J40 every 10 to 15 copies.
The fuser has been upgraded, heat roller and web have been replace in the past (are good - less than 50k).

I went to the unit, cleaned all transport belts and rollers.
I ran 350 (from ADF) copies all fine, 250 from glass all fine.
Called customer in the morning and they had 3 more J40 jams.
    Any ideas?

Make sure the paper is not too damp. Under the drum unit are 3 separator fingers that are fired by a solenoid on the rear frame. Make sure all 3 fingers are there and the solenoid is working. You can cheat the 2 front door switches and watch it run paper under the drum.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

      Thanks Mojo

      Thought of that.

All 3 fingers there, solenoid working. Even took my own paper, still had jams.

Paper makes it half way from drum to fuser, that's why I was thinking transport unit. Have watched paper leave drum and enter fuser no problems. Looks smooth.

Yes, did check bushings in transport.

Pull the main drawer out and check the timing belt on the back. The tension spring sometimes needs a lil goosing. I cat remember if that model has a suction fan in the transport, but if it does, make sure it is working.

Increase the Sep AC voltage 1 sided and 2 sided. If 3510 is the same as 60/80 series it's F6-58 and F6-60. It's what I've had to do if the customer uses heavily curled paper and it started to jam under the DRUM sep fingers.
