Any advice on how to copy checks on a MP C5503. Tried covering up the hologram and the yellow dots is the corner. Nothing but sky shots. tried reducing and enlarging. The only way I got it to work was from 81/2 x11 to legal which seems a little bit drastic.

Re: MP c5503 Check Copying
Try monochrome, combined with reduction or enlargement. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: MP c5503 Check Copying
this is not a new thing with color copiers in the US. Here's what happened when I installed a new 02 color box in a local PD. They were copying money used for undercover buy's on their old machine, the new color box gave black pages. The Chief was in my face about it,told him about the reduce/ enlarge work around to no avail. Then I kindly informed him that it was required buy the US Treasury and the Secret Service. Never heard another thing about it from the Chief...............
Customers don't read the sticker on the machine about "Prohibited copying materials" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mystic Crystal RevelationsComment

On early Canon machine's I found if you place the cheque further in the right of the glass it would work, copied a few notes too, I think it was the way the security worked it only scanned a certain area of the glass, might be worth a try.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Or enlarge 120% or more.Nothing works quite so well that I can't totally disable it by trying to make it a little better.Comment
