    [Dead] Ricoh SP C440

Hello , I installed a new SP C440,but when I turned on the machine , the screen is off , the initial process seems to start , but then remain only the fans running .

I tried to install the firmware , but will not start the charging process .

    Any solution?

No, but PSU is top of my list for parts to order, I was hoping someone else had had this problem and knew what part(s) were needed

There are lights on for the network, but cannot access WIM or ping device.

Hello, by the way, it’s been a long time...

Wow, I thought you went the way of Snake Pliskin! Good to see you back Debs.

Thank you, I don't come on here often as I seldom use a laptop, and the site is not good through a phone, but I do have lots of members as Facebook friends. I will try to be more active again, I promise

From the Ricoh Tech forum: "UPDATING, the problem here was not the PSU, it was the yellow toner RFID chip. Again."

Symptom was "Stuck on please wait"/ couldn't load firmware/ in this case the fans and stuff did NOT turn on though, so might be different.

              Something to look at anyway.

It almost sounds to me like the controller is stalling. When in doubt, reseat all the connectors and boards and see if anything changes.

I understand Tim, but I cancelled my Facebook account nearly 10 years ago, and have no intention of opening another one, so from my standpoint, it's just really nice to see her here again for a change

Thanks for the welcome backs. I've ordered a PSU, BCU and controller board, I'll let people know what it was when (if) I fix it

OK, so, much to my surprise, it was the controller board. Obviously I tried the PSU and BCU first!!
But, once I got the screen back it showed an SC312, I checked, and rechecked all the connectors, even stripping it back down again to check the connections onto the HV board, just in case I had managed to dislodge a connector, I removed and reseated the K PCU a couple of times, but still SC312. Out of sheer desperation I rebooted the printer with the K PCU removed, then refitted it once it told me to reseat PCU, et voila...it only blooming worked. That was a fun 5 hours!!!
