**DHCP fails to connect also. .148 is a valid IP address reserved on this network for that printer. Ping requests also fail.

start it up and if you dont get any errors
1st print of o config page (user tools printer features config page)
look under interface settings check if DHCP set to ON
if the machine has been set with a static ip and is now on a network with a different ip range it wont work

if not set DHCP to on (user tools system settings interface ipv4 DHCP on)
I have tried it with both DHCP and static. Typically any time an IP device is connected to the network the corresponding status light on the network switch will illuminate.
The network switch does not respond when this copier is connected. When I plugged in the other board it lit up. I do have the original board back in it, and it
is working just like it was before I started messing with it. I have a fairly good background with networking, I'm no expert by any means but it really looks like
a hardware issue to me. I need to find a source for the correct replacement board if continued troubleshooting fails. Thanks again.

I don't think I need to say any more. You seem to know your world so good, but still need to ask here for help, that must be very painful for such a big adult like you.

Been messing with network setting this morning, NIC was set to 1, did not find an option for IEEE802.x
I did effect a change of some kind while messing with it...before the green light on the NIC would steady blink on and off now just the amber light is on steady. Hmmm.
I will keep trying different settings to see if I can get it to work.

Did u buy the machine second hand ? did the network function work when you bought it? did you see it working ?

The nic is good, no damage (good idea though, I have seen that before) The machine was here when I hired on, so I don't know it's history.
The Owner was using it connected to his PC via the USB cable, He mentioned that it would not connect to the network. After he moved to
a new office it has just been collecting dust and I finally started messing with it to see if it could be fixed.

Even though the components may be the same, the firmware on the board dictates what goes and what does not.

If you look at the top right of each board there is a chip with a sticker on it - there is a number, then a ":" colon and another number. The second number is the CPM that the board supports.

The board on the left, is 40/50 and the one on the right 28/33. This will NOT work.
Thank you so much for your help, I will contact the seller and see if he has the correct board for our copier. Thanks to all that have posted here, I value your input.

Look again at your pics, different numbers on boards, different numbers on chip at top of board. You have the wrong board.

We have been assuming for some time that the ethernet port on this machine fell victim to a surge of some type....but is it
possible that network function got disabled somehow in the settings? Maybe there's nothing wrong with the board?
I have looked all through the service menu but have yet to find anything like that.

IMG_20161121_135511167.jpg[QUOTE=tnelson;541135]i agree, betting its not the correct controller. if the part# isn't D092-5724 you've got the wrong one! nothing you do will change the 995 code.[/QUOTE

Thanks again guys for the input....if it is the wrong board how do you tell? Neither of the boards have that part# anywhere on them.
Here is a picture of both...Original on the left, replacement on the right.
