when you pull out the drum unit, in that cavity is a little pcb that hangs down to the left side of where the pcu was. clean that and then there is a row of eraser lamps on the back side, check that for toner coverage as well and clean that while you havethe pcu out.
Unless that machine has teflon bushings between the hot roller and its bearings, probably the hot roller needed some high temp grease where the bearings are installed.The inner race of the bearing and the roller can rotate at different speeds, causing all sorts of wrong sounds.
