    Yup.

Check sensors [G] and [H] are seated correctly on their brackets.
When the fusing unit gets pushed back into place they can be knocked out of position.

    See MTB12a (MB222012a_sn) wider sensors.

Also if the pressure roller has a flat spot it can effect the consistency of the rotation leading to the odd occurance of SC548.
(Updating the firmware should help with that one, as SC548 detection/timing has been changed).

Also check to see if the ferite roller is starting to break up. The plastic bushings at each end tend to spin in the outer casing.

I agree, if it's not the sensors, have a look at the ferrite roller. I've had one that locked up, would only turn one way. after a bit o persuasion it broke free. Have you done a PM on this machine? If so did you replace the ferrite roller?
          Good luck

There is a bulletin about sc548 and sc549.
sc 549 change the fuser location sensors
            sc548 update the firmware

Yeah how many copies on the fuser ? I have been to several of these that are way over and no one rebuilds the fuser because the belt still looks ok. If the sensors are still in place I would rebuild the fuser.

Has the Ferrite Core Roller ever been changed? There's a newer one out now with the White bushings. If the bushings are black it's the older model. Might just be worth changing all the rollers in the fuser. It takes a little while to do but after a couple it comes naturally The Orange sponge roller also disintegrates after life.

Just throwing some suggestions out there....

I've had a roller get tight, in this case it seems the motor is not strong enough to move the roller to / from home position which gives random codes. I compared the roller to one in a rebuilt fuser and there was a noticeable difference. Changing the roller solved the problem (The machine already had all mods and firmware updated)

                      Part numbers

Could anyone give me the part numbers for the 2 sensors inside the machine that get knocked out of place that read the SC549 code?

                      Thanks

The modified number is AW020190 (To further ensure the sensor stays fixed in place)

Anyone sensible would make the gap wider so it doesn't get knocked off in the first place!

I was getting alot of these errors on this machine, they were also complaining of jamming in the fuser but there were no jams logged in the SMC.
The problem was with the bridge unit internal tray cover magnets not being strong enough and when the soleniod was firing it was knocking the cover open for a split second and causing a jam but there was no jam logged.
I changed the magnets and the jamming problem and the SC code went away.
Probably my customer being overly heavy handed taking the fuser in and out!!! Something to look into though.

I have seen this previously. Watched a customer shove their hand in the output tray to pick up copies and knock the bidge unit and the machine jammed. No jam logged, but for a fraction of a second it showed 'cover open'. I also believe this leads to the SC548/9 codes when the cutomers handle the fuser unit incorrectly, whilst removing the paper. I only have this problem on machines with the finishing options on, i.e. bridge unit.

On the bridge unit, its the switches that are dodgy - 2x AW500023
