Just curious, if you go to the 7xx in service mode I think 7403, is the sc240-004 the only code that is showing recent. I've had a machine throw 2 codes simultaneously and in order to solve the issue had to resolve one sc before the other would clear. Hope that makes sense

Ah ha! hadn't thought of that one. Should have remembered that trick as I've been caught out by that before, hang on while I check....................10 min later..........nope, only other code is SC650-14 as it can't talk to its RC Gate server cos its here in my workshop. Oh well, back to the drawing board

Well dang! I was hoping it was another code that was holding you up. It's a head scratcher for sure. I'll ask around the shop for other suggestions

??? turn copier on and it goes straight to SC 240 even with a door open and the laser 5v safety line cut.

By text mode are you referring to SP 5992?

Ahh!! hadn't thought of that, might save my legs and back from standing in front of machine for hours as I work my way thru all the SP settings. Thanks

If you go for All it is stil going to take awhile but you can sit down and wait. You also might want to setup Capturing the debug logs. Right after Address book Upload/Download in the C2003/C2503 service manual, probably the same place in the main CXX03 manual.

This is getting worse!!
There is a spare MP C4503 in the workshop used for testing, training and a emergency spares source. Someone has had the laser unit out and now it's showing SC240-04 as well.

Found it!!!
After a lot of sweat, sleepless nights and high blood pressure we managed to get this box to suddenly remember it's supposed to be a photocopier.
First another set of NVRAM chips were fitted to replace the ones that had been fitted incorrectly but still got a SC240-04 code. Boss came up with the bright idea to zero the skew mirrors with SP 2118 then it would let you run SP 2110-5 to re-upload the setting info from the chip in the laser unit and bingo! away it went.

Couldn't find any reference to that in the manual and even NTS didn't know that trick.
