using the document feeder the top copies are coming out lighter than the second side when printed. is there something that would be causing this. maybe need to clean the doc feeder.

MOIST PAPER..if 1st side is lite and duplex side is darker

open a new ream

i did that, the job started out good. a little lite on front side, but backs are good. just installed a new ricoh developer today

New developer or new development unit? To my knowledge Ricoh does not sell just developer. Your samples look like either a dirty laser shield glass or dirty doctor blade.

Have you cleaned optics? If not should be first step for copying issues.

What is a "new unit?"

Does this machine have a single pass DF?

Does the issue only happen when using the DF?

What do the internal test prints look like on all colours?

it only happens doc feeder, must be optics cleaning needed. prints perfect from thumb drive and from computer

Can not be new, and no none of those, if test prints are good, engine is good.

yes sir, single pass DF. i was wrong. it is doing it from the thumb drive as well. see picture. start doing it at around 100 copies

Guess again boy child. The model was introduced in July 2013.

Now properly clean all the optics and run Auto Color Calibration in User Tools. Generally speaking that takes care of about 99% of light image problems.

Still looks like a dirty laser shield glasses or doctor blades.

yes, i can run around 100 copies and then black is dropping out, ill stop clean laser shield and back to normal. what keeps making the laser shield dirty that quick in your opinion.
