    c3002 "add toner" new developerbox

    Hoi,
Plenty off toner in the original Ricoh tonerbottle.
I've never had a toner pump broke on this model (nor 3001), so I think it is the developerbox (because +500K).
But, will it delete the add toner message when initializing the developer(box)?
    Thank you for your help!

I know the question is going to be very obvious, but is toner OEM?

1st - Cancels the warning, toner detection.
2a -Prints the Printer's color pattern.
3a -a - If the color does not come out "palt" (lack of mass), the sensing sensor may be failing and saturating the unit.
    - Clean the cartridge chip and the cartridge contacts
3a -b - In case you are under mass, check if the ducts are clogged.
    - Some of the transport beaters may have stopped working.

I'm waiting for the test results.

Set SP3045 Toner End Detection to 1. If the machine starts working, you most likely have a problem with the toner bottle detection board or the toner bottle. Check for bent contacts.

        Just change the pump anyway.

The pumps do give loading toner on mpc3002 series same as all with that pump design

It could also be the pump Slim.
I turn off end detect and see if the toner supply is affected...pale copies usually mean the pump is shot on these old beasts.

I like to use SP3045 because you get one of three things as a result:
              1. If the problem is with the toner bottle detection board or the toner bottle the machine will immediately start working with normal print density.
              2. If the problem is with the pump/hose the machine will immediately start working with light/faded print density.
              3. If the machine continues to show toner out, it is most likely a bad toner end detector.

In case 1 above and it is the detection board, the machine can continue to be used while waiting for a new board. Should the bottle become depleted, the toner end detector will give a replace now warning 50 pages before disabling operation.

What toner colour is it calling for? all 4 pumps are different but as a test you can swap them around to help troubleshoot.

I remember that for the old B&W models, if you initialize the developer, "add toner" message would disappear immediate.
So, i took the risk and powered on (previous sp3902 to 1 for B.developer), and it is working fine, untill now.
                  Copy quality is good.
                  Thanks for your help.
                  Greetings...

If it saying loading toner then replace it will be the pump if it says not toner it would be toner end dection sensor but only on cym no sensor on bk.

Also check see if dev clutch is turning pull out dev unit if toner around the entrance of dev assy and in machine it will be the clutch

Re: c3002 "add toner" new developerbox

                      Hi Mark et al

I see a lot of the 02 series so I see a lot of this problem. I believe there is a bulletin detailing the procedures everyone is discussing here - good procedures to follow.

Because I see this so often, I carry the toner sensor board and a toner pump (K). Easy to replace and saves a lot of time.

Had one today that turned out to be the DV unit, but its more likely the pump or sensor board. I always clean out the hose and the valve that feeds it, since they can get clogged. I keep an eye out for toner dropping in back where the toner hose meets the valve.

Non Ricoh toner is often involved. Also have seen Ricoh toner misread as 3rd party as a symptom of this issue. I have not initialized the DV as part of this procedure, unless I was replacing the DV unit.

                      Hope this helps.

Swap them around? You mean remove a cyan toner pump and re-assemble it for the magenta toner (and v.v.)?

No need to disassemble, they do fit but the pipe is at a different angle so you route it the shortest distance not using the clamps.

Won't there be contamination of cyan toner in magenta (or v.v.)?
