    IMC3000 NVRAM zero counter

    HI,

Does anyone know if the procedure of the zero counter/NVRAM is the same as in the MPC3003/Metis machines ?

    Thanks in advance . .

Why do you need that? It's illegal in most parts of the world.

Yes, there are people that know the procedure. The real question is, are they going to tell you the procedure?

          I think no.

Wel I know the procedure, had to do it on an MPC3003 because there was an error with the NVRAM causing strange behavior of the machine.

The quistion therfore is because of simular problems on an IMC3000

Writing the procedure here would be irresponsible as well as illegal. The problems are not always solved by resetting the nvram indeed it could be worse. It is more appropriate to buy the new one.

How about a description of the problem. One of us might be able to help you repair it properly.

Well as I said before I don't need to know how the procedure is, I know it and of course it should not be written here.
Read my question, I just asked if it is the same on the IMC's

It didn't start up or was very slow . . . the new NVRAM was the solution, on advice from Ricoh itself !

Ok, but I also suggested that you take the new nvram.

Exactly! I can't think of any issue with a copier that you would need to reset the main counter to resolve a fault.

It can happen when you load a damaged firmware, or some technical magician changes all the standard passwords.

It can also happen when Ricoh send instructions directly to the customers on how to encrypt their machine and they bugger it up
