Mpc 2003 not able to load web browser

I have a client who has a mpc 2003 with a static IP, and when I try log into the web browser it gives 404 not found. Is there anything specific that could be causing that?

This client also has a Mac laptop that he prints from, is there any way for them to be able to print in colour from the laptop without postscript?

Newer model Mac with latest OS X have been able to print in color for about 4 years. Just no way to tell it not to do so. If the document has color it will print. Also no way to enter User Code.

This sounds like a new setup to me.
Can you confirm if the WIM was working for the client, and then just suddenly stopped, or you have no idea if it was working prior to your installation?

is it configed to B&W only?

Did someone try to setup a self signed Device Certificate. If so WIM will require that you access it as https and will give a 404 not found if you try to access as http device.

I'm not sure if it was working before, the machine had been on site for a while, I was at the client for quality issues, but I wanted to set up @remote at the same time, which is when I discovered that I couldn't get on the web browser

First check SP 5895-001. It should be set to 1. If set to 2 WIM could be disabled.

Try another browser, chrome for example.

Also connect your laptop if you have Windows.

Updating the firmware can also resolve this issue.

                          As others have said....
                          • I would start with updating ALL firmwares.
                          • Try switching the machine to DHCP to Auto obtain an address, and then see if you can access WIM with that IP. Then you can switch it back to Static.
                          • Check security settings (User tools --> System settings --> Admin. tools --> "Network Security Level" {usually set to "Custom"}).
                          • I think there is an SP that can be toggled to disable WIM.....SP 5-885-205 should be set to "0".
                          • Are there any Admin. Authentication settings set?
                          • You said you were going to set up @remote, but couldn't access WIM to do that. Did you try to do it from the machine's panel after that? Was it successful? If not, you can execute SP 5-870-003, and then 5-870-001, if those fail to execute then you may have a device certificate issue.

Not true. Apple has included generic PCL support for years.
Add printer -> IP and chose: LPD on protocol, set the ip address, in the queue field you can write anything. In the print using field chose Generic PCL Driver. and it is done.
Depending on the age of your Mac you might be only able to print B/W.
