Hey, All. No questions today, just the result of the auto firmware update on a c6003(all new for me) First off, as an independent, I kinda thought we would have to have @remote or something for this to work. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. I entered service mode and clicked the "update firmware" tab, and then...the downloading firmware indication came up, and it stayed like that FOREVER (I thought it might have bricked the controller). After 30 or 40 minutes it started installing the modules, and completed with a restart. Checking the firmware versions from the logging data I seen it did indeed update firmware. Life is good, and it's cool, but onsite updates will need to be done with a SD card for much quicker results. I can see possible malfunctions occurring by setting the machine to do this on it's own resulting in a service call at the worst possible time, so I think I will leave that off. Everyone have a great day and stay safe.

Re: Automatic firmware update
Yeah, I hadn't thought that maybe it was from the previous owner. He could look at SP5816-201, if it's a 2 then it's running @remote embedded.Comment

On the IMC range you can set the fw to update at a date & time of your choice this works out of the box just need to set a couple of SPs.

Re: Automatic firmware update
If you are with an authorized Ricoh Family Group dealer, contact your regional support representative to have an account setup for your dealership. Otherwise, too bad so sad.Comment

Re: Automatic firmware update
Place a request in either the Service Manual Requests forum or the Parts Room forum. Be sure to specify model and current level of all firmware. Either that or become an authorized dealer.Comment

Re: Automatic firmware update
On the C6003 series you are better off updating the firmware the way you always have by SD card.
Drop me an email if you want the latest package version.
