MP402 J003 code wont re set

THere is no paper in the machine , this code is duplex i believe, i have reset the machine several times, is there a secret to re setting the jam codes? lol
or is there another problem, it wont come to ready, after i do the re set dance.
any suggestions? THank you

The jam will reset once the issue has been resolved. Jam code? Then troubleshoot from there.

BET It's a sensor that is whacked....

yep i thnk so to, and the jam j003 is paper tray 1 feed section a1... its not picking up the paper,,, i wint be infront of it till tomorrow

Check each sensor is working using the input check in SP mode one of them will be faulty or an actuator is stuck.

Most jam codes will nor clear until 3 things have happened.

1. All doors that need to be opened in order to locate and remove the jam have been opened. With some models this includes the front door even though it may not be necessary to open it to access the jam.
2. The jam has been corrected.
3. All doors that were opened have been closed

If step 2 has not occurred correctly the machine will detect the jam again only the second time it will display as a J001. If it continue to display the jam code, J003, I would suspect that a door switch or sensor is bad. Use Input/Output checks to test all switches and sensors.

Probably paper not sitting at front of paper tray, check the rear fence.

i suspect the peper is not in the tray propperly,, im on my way ill report back here for the solution

as suspected the back stop on paper drawer 1 was not in position, i dont know if these move on there own as they are loaded but the client says all she does sis put paper in it... likley story... anyway all fixed, no clutch or sensor... thank god, those are not easy to get to... and i dont have the patience for bad feed clutches and paper drive motors since the last mpc8002 paper motor swap experience... LOL
been there got the t shirt and the strained back.... LOL

as suspected the back stop on paper drawer 1 was not in position, i dont know if these move on there own as they are loaded but the client says all she does sis put paper in it... likley story... anyway all fixed, no clutch or sensor... thank god, those are not easy to get to... and i dont have the patience for bad feed clutches and paper drive motors since the last mpc8002 paper motor swap experience... Surely you checked this when you were on site !? very basic troubleshooting.

When the user slams the tray in too hard the weight of the paper pushes the back top out of position.

i wasnt there till mourning,today, i was going on client descriptions and they dont know what the hell a paper back stop is... or how to move it LOL
i did charge a trip charge... anywy thanx

I always put screws in the fence so I can't move anymore. The holes are already there. If they need to feed any other size there is always the bypass tray.

+1 on the screws, they work.
