    IMC3000 PDF printing errors

    Hi,

Placed a IMC3000 last week at an customer.
Installed and checked the printing from an PCL6 driver, looked allright
However, the next day there was a complaine when PDF jobs were printed coming from "Bluebeam" software

Jobs coming herefrom took a long time to process, holding and blocking the other jobs coming from Word and others . . .
Customer had to swith off and on the printer for continuing the other jobs to come out.

What I noticed is that this problem occurs when the files are large and coming from the Bluebeam software.
So I installed an Postscript M37 unit and changed the driver into the Ricoh IMC3000 PS driver.

This seemed to work for a day, but customer called again for the problems, despite for M37 and PS driver. . ..

Someone known about such a problem in combination with PDF's printing.
I am not familiar with this Bluestream software, so what goes wrong here . .

Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance

    Gr George

From what I can find, "Bluebeam" is a construction software. The PDFs most likely have embedded changes that the C3000 has to skip over. Installing Ghostscript usually helps with printing downloaded construction plans on wide format printers. If that doesn't help then they are going to have to "flatten" the file before printing. If "Print Preview" is available from the software, they need to go to the preview screen and print from there.

If "Preview" is not available, then they will have to print to file and load that into Acrobat Reader where it is.

like slimslob says, try to print the job from acrobat, and i suggest you to remove the ip port and recreate it...could be ruined...happens

make sure the firmware is up to date. make sure that bluebeam is up to date. and i agree with the other comments. if everything else prints fine from adobe then it's the software, not the printer. you said it is pcl6, is it the most up to date as well? i thought for the IMC series, and after, they did away with the requiring the PS card.

How many users print to the device. I would first check all computers to make sure no one has installed that dreaded windows IPP printer driver. Someone maybe printing using that and clogging it up for others that may have the correct driver. If the above is OK then see if you can recreate the fault with one file. If you can recreate easily then try playing with settings. Maybe try print as image or turn off auto continue and see if you are getting any paper type/size issues. There is a setting in the PS menu of printerfeatures which you can change to ignore pdl errors.
