It is mostly the same, except the network by default is Public, and will restrict SMB.
Make sure you create a local standard user account, either with Settings > Accounts, or lusrmgr.msc.
Create the shared folder the usual way, and give that account either Read and Write, or Full Control, permissions.
Set the Network to Private, instead of Public, via: Right click network icon > Network and Internet Settings > Properties > Private network.👍 2 -
Before create local standard user acc. Make sure u have turn on SMB features for windows 11. Windows 11 default setting SMB 1.0 /CIFS server still not active. Just add this features.👍 1Comment

And the next time a Microsoft security update installs, usually at least once a week, SMB v1 will be turned back off. If the scan device supports SMB v2/3, SMB v1 support on the computer is not needed.Comment

I'll start by saying that I'm not a super expert in systems, but I've noticed that on some PCs for some strange reason, sometimes, you have to create a rule in the Windows integrated firewall to allow the MC to access the folder, or with an IP, or with a port, or with a protocol"I'll be back"👍 1Comment

There is no reason in 2024 to add SMB 1 support back into Windows 11. If you or your clients have equipment that doesn't support modern file sharing it's time to upgrade.👍 3Comment
