Ricoh MP C3501 Stacker Not Moving

I've got a Ricoh MP C3501 with the booklet stacker.
I've recently been printing manuals to the 1000 sheet stacker shift tray. The issue is that the stacker isn't lowering, causing a mess at the output tray. I see it occasionally blip down and back up a fraction, but it doesn't lower.
This is the first time I've tried to run 1000 sheet jobs on this thing, so I've never noticed it before.
I've searched the service manual but haven't found a clear answer to stacker maintenance.
    2 questions:
    1) Is there a good place to start troubleshooting? There are no error codes related to the stacker not working properly.
    2) Where in SP mode would one look to test the stacker manually?

Interestingly, in SP mode, I don't see 5807 for option connection check, or any others related to the finisher (Though the punch, stapler and booklet modes all work, and are present in the printer driver when printing). In the print driver I have finisher SR300 checked.

    I'm stumped

The sensor just above the exit is not working correctly or the sensor arm for it is broken. The step down and back up is to allow the next set room to exit under the arm. The arm rides on the top of the stack and when the stack gets too high the finisher lowers the stack about half an inch.

Can you post a picture of the exit of the finisher onto the stacker tray please.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

most likely the foam exit rollers for the shift tray are worn causing the pages not to exit and stack properly causing the tray not to lower and then eventually causing the backup of pages and jamming.

The correct finisher should be SR790 and SR3020 for booklets

            This is usually the problem.

all the options suggested by colleagues here are plausible.
if it does not stack them well, I would suggest also checking the "gathering roller", (about 30 euro) which almost always "wilts" due to deterioration of the rubber/sponge it is made of, you can try to replace the external rubber using the rubber of a pick up roller type af03-2090 or others, adding a bit of insulating tape on the plastic core to make it compatible with the thickness of the new rubber.

*for pull out the rubber from the core of the af03-2090 see this video

Without those it will never work well, to begin with

well, it used to have foam rollers lol. i agree with everyone else, replacing them should fix it. you have downloaded the service manual for the finisher? it is different from the one for the copier itself.

No, I don't have the service manual for the finisher.
                      Is there a link?

Message me with an email address and I can send you one plus the parts catalog.

Looking at the Detailed Description of the 1000 sheet finisher in the C3501 service manual, it does not have a gathering roller.

Actually with the new system software I found that the size limitations on ,pdf file allow much larder files so here they are.
