    Aficio 1224c Error code Sc544

    Hi intelligent people,

I have an Aficio 1224c and, it was working fine until I changed the password for operator tools, 2 min, after that a windows test came out, it was less dark, after that I have this message: code SC 544

the button of the printer is lighting red, and a service key is also lighting red.
can I rest this, and if the thermostats are defective, where can I find them?
I don't have the service manual, only users manual.

    thanks for the help,

    greetings, Hans.

Thank you for your fast replay,
but I don't have a service contract, and it is very expensive for me now to get one.

I have some knowledge about electronics, just don't know where to look!
I don't know it is possible for me to get the schematic drawings for this machine? or a manual that can help?

      greetings, Hans

like the 1st reply says, it does not concern what u changed when that code appeared... only a power surge can trigger a fixing error... unless u were unfortunate that a thermistor went open.....

try to reset the machine first. before you tear apart your fixing unit
        Just came out from hybernation.....

im not familiar with Aficio 1224c if its the same procedure with other ricoh digital models when resetting error codes but you can try...

But if these hardwares you mentioned have a problem, you wont be able to reset it just like i mentioned in your PM.... better ask a copier tech'n to check it first....

              How to clear SC544

              Hans,

Im guessing from your posts that your not a trained tech, so let me laymans terms it for you.

SC544 is a fuser error and as said previously has nothing to do with your password change.

The SC544'A' is a code type 'A' which means it will not clear by itself, it needs a technician to reset it.

If you want I can talk you through re-setting, but it will need to be over the phone as it will take a few minutes and is to long for this post.

Please feel free to give me a call (my number is at www.inception.co.uk).

If your not from the UK, our UK code is +44 and drop the 0 at the start of the number.

              Regards

              Gareth

I don't think it's a good idea to tell a non-tech the way to enter the service mode. The service mode is for technicians who know what they're doing, not for customers!
You can do a lot of damage if you don't know what you're doing!

You can simply reset the 544 Service Call, but what caused this SC??? I bett this SC will return.

I'm with you on this one. SP's are for trained techs.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

You are wright, some one who don't have the knowledge, will damage his machine, I also think he will not be able to find this forum. Eric1968, for your information I am an engineer in mechanics, electronics and computer sciences. it is just I don't have the technical schematic drawings of the machine, so I am not some one in a office behind the books, I know what I was doing.

and everyone repeated that my changing of the password has nothing to do with this problem, I was just putting the moment that the error acquired in view.

I was overwhelmed when I saw how much response I had from people trying to help me. The people that help other people just from the goodness of their hart, will not be forgotten,
                        what goes around comes around.

I will later update my profile so you know what my knowledge is, if someone needs help in that area and I can help, I will be glad to do so,

                        thank you all,
                        Hans

I know the reason of this error, I live in a place in Belgium, where the power is very unstable, time to time you see the light strength change, so what I think is I was operating the machine, then a paper with windows test page came out, and very clear, no one was printing anything, so it had low temperature and it trigger the fueser, it is working fine now, I will put an UPS on the machine so it gets constant power.

                            what do you think?
