I got locked out of an MP C3004 during a F/W update some time ago and thought it was bricked - until I came across this thread where Deb1964 posted a GENIUS solution that saved my life. (I miss Debs)
Scroll down to find her fix - the key for me was the 5 minute wait.

ALSO....the original poster (Vintage tech) posted a follow-up because in his case some icons didn't return afterwards, and he posted the fix for that.

      Good luck!

I don't know her personally, and I'm unsure of her status - only that she's not posted in quite some time.
She really added a lot of excellent insight and is/was a valued member

Looking at her Profile she last posted here on July 31, 2024. Her last Facebook post was September 18th when she updated her Profile Picture. She turns 61 tomorrow so might be retired.

Thanks for the link we DOA the machine I had tried c1243ccc but only with the package .
I'm not sure it that workaround is on the new machines as it never bleeped at me while holding down the c key

Wouldn't beep on me until I waited 5 minutes either.

BTW.....you don't hold the c button at the end of the sequence. That may be part of the issue

Maybe my error I always thought you had to hold the c down on the last pres until it bleeped to say it had reset the error flag

Yes, also this is the wrong number sequence, there's no number '2'

Were you able to reset the code? I didn't think the newer machines had many individual firmwares and only a handful to update. Had to use Package firmware.

I'm trying to remember to format the SD cards before using them (they are already formatted just been used several times).

The individual .FWU files can be extracted and placed in a romdata folder using the 7-Zip software.
