Waist Toner bar on lead edge of back of sheet on a Ricoh Pro c7100

I am having an issue with a .25 waist toner bar on lead edge of sheet on a Ricoh Pro c7100. Rebuilt ITB unit, ITB Cleaning Unit, and PTR unit. ITB unit went through all the SP codes with complete on all. It does not matter if the operator prints a smaller copy on a larger sheet (11x17 on a 12x18), it still leaves the bar. Looks like a timing or reading the lead and tail of the sheet issue. Cleaned all the sensors. Not kicking up any errors. Any advice on where to look?

I'm assuming its on the front side of the page? to me there should be nothing on the belt after it leaves the cleaning unit so for it to only be transferring onto the lead edge of the page i would suspect something outside of the ITB. If there is toner on the belt anywhere other than the image being generated then it has to be coming from somewhere. My guess would be either before or after the paper transfer area the paper is picking up toner from somewhere. you could try stopping the machine mid run and pull the belt out to inspect it before the image is transferred

No, it’s on the backside of the lead edge of the sheet. We output Face up single sided to eliminate It being a two sided transfer issue. The only waste toner I can find is a toner bar.still left on the ITB. What I’m leaning towards is that is being put on the transfer roller and then on the front edge back of the sheet. That’s why I’m leading towards a timing or gap space between sheets?

No, sir, quality is quite beautiful. It’s just that damn toner bar. The toner bar is consisting of all the colors.

Stop mid cycle and check Transfer belt for the toner, waste toner, bars, also check drums for the bars on the drums.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

The service manual and I are very old friends. It did finally gave me a 586-22 error. Going through the right drawer now and also checking the stepping motors.

Check the drawer rear connector for paper.
