    MP C2004 not recognising toner

    Hello everyone

this machine shows no Y & M toner when toners not installed, but when toners are installed they are listed as "not detectable" - they are OEM toners, i cleaned and vacuumed the chips & the contacts inside the machine, no difference! i fitted a brand new M and still no change

any suggestions please and thank you!

SP3100 [Tonner End Detection: Set] may be the cause. Change from 0 Detect to 1 Not Detect and see what happens. FYI OEM does not mean Genuine Ricoh. For best results only use Genuine Ricoh. Third party chips can corrupt toner memory.

        thanks Slim

by OEM i meant genuine Ricoh (Original Engine Manufacturer) - will try SP3100 from 0 to 1

        much appreciated!

also i ran into this in the past. the ricoh box said it was the correct toner for that model. but wouldn't recognize it when installed. but just below where the toner was seated was a sticker telling the toner part #. which was different from what was listed on the ricoh box that stated it was for that model. when i ordered using the toner part # on sticker it worked.

the sticker was inside the machine just below where the toner goes in?

There is a toner helix block on the back of the place where the toner is installed. If there is a blockage in this section like the mixer or a fault in the part that makes the mixer, it gives a toner error when there is no toner flow. For your information

have you update firmwares ? one firmware check the rfid one the toner bottle, if it's not french you have this message .

Have you changer or invert the ship, for exemple yellow and cyan to make a test ?
