MP 2004 EX - Abnormal paper exit noise

    Good evening everyone.
I have a 2004 mp with this strange defect.
There is a strange noise coming from the paper exit.
The machine has about 45,000 copies

Ricoh Problem Mp 2004 - YouTube

It is noticeable from the 30 second onwards. This kind of ticking

What do you think about it?

    Thanks for your support

Why are you focused on the finisher exit tray when the noise occurs well before it even starts moving .
That noise is almost certainly coming from near the actual machine exit section -if there was not a bridge unit and finisher installed. Sounds like a fuser bearing.
I've not worked on this particular unit, but heard similar noise on the 30ppm and up xx03 series
Running outputs in SP mode for drum/ transfer, and fuser (with it removed). That should help isolate the issue.

If this is about the knocking sounds, that's probably a dry ball bearing contact surface (ball bearing->press roller shaft).

Run the fuser motor in I/O mode to help narrow it down.

It does sound like a fuser bearing.

Sounds like the fusing sleeve to me.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

Take the fuser apart, put high temperature grease on the inside and outside races of the pressure roller bearings.

I'd swap the gears as a set. Sometimes you can clean them up but if the bearings have been damaged it might last a year, month, etc

Or find which one feels bad and get it swapped

it does not seem to me a known noise of the paper output, it seems to me rather the fusing gears (already suggested above mbz6301) that are about to go, or at least the bearings that need a syringe of grease between the roller and the bearing - p.s. if you try the fuser output check, remove the waste toner box, so the lamps do not turn on, otherwise the sleeve could be damaged! ... but I think you can see it just with your eyes if you look at the gears

I agree with some of my colleagues. It is similar to the noise of bearings, when they are dry.

                      good evening
I was able to trace the problem (Simulating the closed door and pressing the two side sensors)
As in the image below the problem is in this area. This anomalous noise comes from here.
I tried to give some "fat" in the part circled in red, but the problem persists.

That "area" would be the Fuser unit that nearly EVERYONE has told you is the cause of the issue.
Remove it and service it -or call someone who can.
It's literally 2 screws to remove it and apparently you haven't even accomplished that in over a week

Good evening. I understand your disappointment but guys, I'm a novice technician, and this customer is very far from me.
I will proceed to remove the fuser, then I have to change the 3 gears right?
What is the cause of the problem? The printer is brand new.

What do you consider "vary far"? About half of my customers were at least an hours drive away, some as much as tow hours.

PS. I doubt if the MP C2004EX is "brand new" since it is a discontinued product replaced by the IM C2000 which has also been discontinued and replaced by the IM C2500.
