An oldie but a goodie. I have a customer that has about 50 of these old machines at his locations. I have been repairing them over the years minor stuff actually and they continue to run. This past year, we have had about 10 of them throw an SC672-00 code and I have been able to replace the machines with the same model thanks to an older gentleman's lease return company who still has them. I find it hard to believe that simply age would make the controllers go bad at this rate. Any suggestions as to what to do about it, how to stop it or if its possible to reset the controllers somehow? Thanks.

Do you ever do anything to try and recover them, or just assume it's the controller board, and replace the machine?
My experience has almost always been that if the code is intermittent, replacing the HDD almost always resolves it on many models.
That said...on this particular series, replacing the HDD is a BRUTAL job! So I would likely opt to replace the unit too - especially at the extremely low cost I can get them for now👍 2Comment

Keep the firmware UpToDate & this issue occurs less often.
Once you get the SC672 error it's too late.
Always worth checking the panel USB cable but usually a failed controller.

Thanks all for the response and Yes sandmanmac it's most likely the HDD but way too time consuming to replace it.Comment
