[Misc] M 2701 - Where to set SSL for the SMTP server?

    Good afternoon all.

I can't find where to configure encryption for the SMTP server on this model. I can't believe it doesn't support SSL in a time when almost all servers require it.

    Anyone?

    Cheers.

Same as with most models now, might just need a firmware update.

Frimware is at the latest version.

        (I missed that word...)

I thought "Maybe I just need to insert the correct port number (25 for plain, 465 or 587 for encrypted) and the machine assumes the correct action" and... no. Port 25 works fine, 465 and 587 does not.

I'm not sure but you may need firstly to create and install device certificate.

Actually SSL/TLS/STARTLS for sending to an SMTP server require a current site certificate from a valid internet Certificate Authority.

That's odd, was never needed on any device so far (that I know of). Also, there's no mention whatsoever of SSL on the email screen... Will report to Ricoh, will let you know when I get an answer.

                  Cheers!
