Yes that motor. Not the one that drives the toner pump.

        Re: PRO1357 light prints

There's been loads of issues with machines recently due to the return of load-shedding and and other electrical issues. Power surges, brown outs, etc..

Hope you come right with the problem

Check the setting of SP 2208 Toner Supply Mode. If it is set to 1 Pixel Count Control that could be your problem. Pixel count can tend to slowly under tone as it does not use either of the sensors, TD or ID. It is intended for temporary use when one of the sensors is bad and you are waiting for a new one.

It is on 0 - sensor control, I did have it set to 1 a while ago for testing purposes but it made no difference.

Is there any message of toner end? Also the id sensor under the drum might be failing - sorry, hadn't read the last post.

No toner end picking up and I did replace the ID sensor as well. VSG and VSP are showing correct values

Try to split the developing unit and check if toner falls down from the toner hopper when you rotate the toner supply gear...

If it does, check the toner supply motor (not the pump one, the one that rotates the toner hopper gear that makes the toner drop from the toner hopper onto the developing unit)

I will split the units tomorrow and check that.. But I did already replace the dev unit with the toner hopper from a working machine for testing purposes and the motor that drives the hopper as well

If you do a forced toner supply,.. The copy becomes better?

Yes it does, it works for like 200 copies then goes light again. When I replaced the ID sensor it made about 10k copies then got light again

This is some stuff I would try. Not sure if it will work for you but it did work on a machine I working with recently.

SP 2209 - I set this to a low value. Something like 200 and let the client run the machine for about 2000 prints to see the outcome.

SP2210 - I set this to 5. I believe the default is 10. Again I made the client run the machine for about 2000 prints or more and monitored closely.

I had to be very careful it didn't over-tone,.. Which it did for 1 moment... I adjusted it again before it got bad

                            All the best

Thank you I will try these and let you know, luckily it is not a client's machine but one of our own as we have a print bureau in house so I will monitor closely tomorrow
