Thanks so much! I went through the PTOP manual and saw how the polygon motor should be connected. I also noticed that the CN556 connector is for the polygon motor, and to my surprise, it was completely unplugged from the IPU. I'm not sure how or why that happened.

Now, however, I'm facing a new issue: I'm getting paper jams. The paper doesn't seem to feed through properly, and I keep getting a jam error. When I open the right drawer, the paper just lies there completely loose. I tried blowing dust off all the sensors, but it doesn’t seem to help.

It almost feels like the paper isn’t being gripped correctly—maybe due to a sensor issue or a motor problem? I'm not sure. Occasionally I also get an error related to the shift roller motor (SC586-21), and other times it's the registration timing motor (SC586-20). But when I restart the machine, the error disappears.

Do you have any ideas what could be causing this behavior? Or would it be better if I created a new post for this separate issue?

    Thanks again for your help!
Does it jam with all the paper trays?

      Hi Giuboss,
Yeah, it seems to jam from all the paper trays, although it doesn’t really feel like a typical jam. When I open the right drawer, the paper is just lying there completely loose—not crumpled or stuck, just resting in place. I even tried using both A4 and SRA3 sizes, but the issue persists.

I'm not sure if it's the paper feeders if the paper doesn't come out of any tray, though I'd clean the rubber rollers just to be sure. One test you can do is open the top tray to see if the rollers in the bottom one are rotating. I think you're still having problems with the laser, since you started there, and you probably have some loose connections. The manual also lists transfer issues according to the codes you listed.

What are the jam codes?? These could be double feed detection jams if its J099. If so make sure you have set paper thickness correctly for the paper you are trying to run.

Hi blee, the jam code is j098. I found out one of the servos was broken in that area, so I have ordered a new one. Hopefully, that will solve it.

Yeah that is a over skew error, so the machine is having trouble moving the paper to register it correctly. So a bad motor in that right side could definitely cause an issue. Hopefully that fixes you up.

One of the 3 d1942999 was very tight and clunky and almost couldn't be turned by hand, and the other 2 were able to turn smoothly. So, I thought there must be a problem with that one. Now, we are just waiting for the new one, and hopefully that's fixing the problem. I will keep you updated. 😊
