    I need to try this!
(I'm excited) I have to prove that's true...

I don't see anything about it in the release notes.

There was an SP setting for the B140/B246 Series for Warm Up Short Mode.It is still there in the MP 9002 service manual. The firmware probably changed the default from 2 to either 0 or 1. It also affects SP 3903-001 Drum Rotation Time Extension Mode ON/OFF. See service manual.

Controls when corona wire cleaning is done to adjust the length of time that is
                  necessary for startup.
                  [0~2/1]
0: Charge corona wire not cleaned when the machine is turned on.
Warmup Time: 30 sec. (Short Process Control is done)
1: Charge corona wire cleaned only when the machine is turned on.
Warmup Time: 30 sec. + 40 sec. (for cleaning) = 70 sec. (Short Process Control
                  is done)
2: Normal startup procedure at power on:
Warmup Time: 240 sec. (Full Process Control is done; same as B064)
                  • Potential sensor calibrated
                  • Drum starts to turn when fusing unit gets to the warmup temperature (not
                  done during Short Process Control)
                  • Potential sensor readings are used to adjust development bias, grid voltage,
                  laser diode.
                  • ID sensor calibrated (not done during Short Process Control)
                  • TD sensor calibrated (not done during Short Process Control)

maybe they set all this in one shot (?) ... anyway I hated that wait

6002 and 9002, were the only ones so long, the others older, and the newer ones start immediately

It was only possible after 4 minutes, i have been doing this the same with 9001,9002 series.

                    (Machines with Thicker Hot Roller).

All that needed to be changed was the setting, 0 1 or 2, of the SP 3904-001. 1 byte of data. FYI, I have been doing this with martini in school districts for years. Teachers don't like waiting.
