So you wouldn't even consider that the clicking noise is coming from that 'refilled' toner cartridge?
Really?
And if it is a bearing on the fuser. There are no parts available. You buy the entire unit.

EDIT: I just saw the other thread that you asked about being the same issue. (MP C5503)
Seriously? You could hardly have found a more different machine to try and compare with !Last edited by sandmanmac; 07-13-2022, 03:05 AM. -

Run the different motors in I/O mode to narrow it down.
On the MP C5503 it's usually the fuser bearings, they need to be greased with high temperature grease.Comment

Re: Ricoh SP C261SFNw clicking noise (fuser bearing?)
Last night I figured out I could lift the operation panel by removing a couple of screws but still leave it connected. I watched as the printer went into warm-up mode. I have a video clip of the 2 orange rollers inside the fuser unit moving around at the same time the clicking noise happens. This could provide more insight I'm sure for someone with more knowledge.

Re: Ricoh SP C261SFNw clicking noise (fuser bearing?)
It sounds/ appears to be a flat spot on the pressure roller which is not uncommon on some machines that have not been used for extended periods of time, and the fuser rollers remain under constant pressure.
It may improve over time as the rollers turn, but once again, there are NO PARTS available for the fuser, so there's really no solution other than to replace the unit which makes no sense for the cost.
BTW......you did get help from my post. Sorry if you didn't 'like' the answer, but it's basically the same today anywayComment

Thanks for a more kind approach to helping me. I certainly did not mean to come across as comparing my SP ricoh to the MP model. It was just using it as a starting point.

I've never worked on a laser printer of this magnitude nor seen a flat spot on a fuser.Comment

When disassembled, you can see better in your hand. I go by memory I could make some small mistakes.. Right panel, left panel, plastic under keyboard, and keyboard, big connector on the left, and small connector, 2 big screws in front both left and right, and comes off... careful, underneath there is a plastic guide that can break.
If you spin the gear with your fingers, you can feel the imbalance of resistence at the rotation."loneliness is an invention of the white man, when we are alone we talk to everything around us, we are never alone" (Ojibwa)Comment
