    MP C6502 sc 402-61

This code appears when i do auto color adjustment, ( i did line adjustments all good) or when a job switches from one job to the next on an different paper size..
This all i know, the DV was replaced but not the DV Unit... i suspect the DV unit is the culprit toner density sensor, or weak mag roller... the total count on this machine is under 350k but it may have sat idle for a while
im thinking replace the K Dv unit and go from there.... any thoughts?

I might replace the K development unit if it was a SC402-51 but not a -61. -61 has to do with the laser unit.
    Unable to draw gradation pattern
    Details:
This SC is issued when the potential sensor fails to detect the
gradation pattern created during process control.

It says "This SC is issued when the potential sensor fails to detect"

So before replacing the developer unit try swapping drum, charge roller and potential sensor with another color.

I'd do everything I could think of before replacing the laser, probably expensive unless you have a parts machine to get one from.

I would be more inclined to say a problem with an electrical connection.

we don't have that model, but from the code, I would visually check that the black developer unit is at least mechanically in place, try to rotate it with your hands, and see that everything turns ok, and the toner is distributed well on the magnetic roller...and clean the ID sensor.
