[Electrical] Ricoh 7001 - Main motor stucked

    Hi,

i'm new on this forum and i'm not expirienced mechanic but i know something to do on my machine. My problem is that main motor sound like stucked wheel gears. I'm sure that is main motor because i cheked motors on control panel. Is there any video how to approach to main motor and solve the problem.

Thanks for any kind of help.

Maybe it's something related to it, try actuating the front door lock switches with some folded paper and start the machine. I'd also take a look at the back.

Get an experienced technician to look at the machine. Damaging components in the drive portion of the machine could easily turn it into a giant paper weight.

If I'm reading this right, sounds like you may have a clogged toner recycling tube causing the auger drive belt to slip. The flywheel must be removed to access these components.

You've got to get in back of the machine and turn things by hand, and/or watch in the back while it's making the noise. I'm saying, I guess you will have to do some troubleshooting to narrow it down.

Are you positive that the noise is coming fro, the back of the machine and not the front? If the noise sounds like gears jumping and is coming from the front it could be either a worn toner separator or a clogged recycle tube. Either should be corrected immediately. If it is a clogged recycle tube you could end up having to replace the entire lower PCU frame assembly. The toner separator should be replaced every 600K.

                Hello

Thats a big machine with a few motors and a few areas that could give off the sound of gears not functioning properly.

                This is I suggest
                1) Get a fully experienced engineer. Better to have someone who knows what they doing then to damage something else and cost more money.
                2) if you insist on doing it yourself. Open the front cover. Bypass the switches and let the machine cycle. It might be the waste recycling gears and coil on the front of the drum unit just like what Slimslob suggested.
                3) remove back cover. Let machine cycle. Check tension on the belt on the registration unit.
                4) check gears at back which feed waste toner into the waste toner bottle.

The list goes on friend. This is why having an experienced engineer fix it is better. Always remember, cheap is expensive.

                All the best friend

A more common "gear issue" with these , and it sounds awful ...is a broken fuser drive gear

Thank you, guys for your answers. I gave it ''to better hands''. An engineer will take care about it.

Excellent choice Milos. Those machines can be difficult to work with
