    [Misc] PROC5300s Intermittent Noise

    Hi all,

Has anyone had any issues of Proc5300 with intermittent fan noise? We have run fans in output mode and cannot pin point a noise.

Does seem to be very intermittent, as usual customer complains about the noise when we arrive to site the device seems fine.

Any ideas or previous experience of an intermittent noise would be greatfull.

    Thanks

Ask the customer to record a video of it doing it if they can. That's the only way to troubleshoot an intermittent noise.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

it would seem like some fans, sometimes you just need to clean them, the accumulation of dust can unbalance them and create noises, try again with sp output check, and hit them lightly with the screwdriver handle to see how they react, I would start from those that tend to be operated for the longest time , while you're at it, clean the filters too

Can you post it? A few other pairs of ears may help.

We've had to replace the fiery fans on a few devices due to noise.

well, let's change the approach, it must be said that, thinking about it, since you haven't heard it, it's not necessarily a fan, maybe it's a drum that whistles(?) or a bushing a developer unit creaking(?) ....try again with sp output check, and get everything running.

Well, count me out, I can't hear high pitched noises any more. That does make troubleshooting noises a little more difficult these days.

Sometimes I run fans and motors in service mode while the customer listens until they say "That's it!"
