Ricoh MP C307 Firmware update

Hello everyone,

First of all, I am not a professional. I bought a second hand MP c307.
I took this model because my wife prints a lot (teacher), and I know this model well which I use at my work and which I appreciate.
I am very satisfied with it, after a capricious MP C305.
I would like to know if updating the firmware is really essential. The machine offers the update directly from the touch screen, but is it reliable?
I looked for the firmware on the internet but couldn't find it. At the time, on my 305, I updated via SD card.
Here is a preview of my version, is it the latest?

It is not essential to keep the firmware current, however Ricoh do bring out various bug fixes & they address some security issues over the years so to keep your printer running smoothly it is recommended.

Firmware fixes many things. If you are getting any error codes or if you have any trouble while printing or scanning, update the firmware before doing anything else.

The current System/Copy version is v1.25
So you are quite a few versions behind and updating wouldn't be a bad thing.

An easy method is to use Ricoh's "Firmware update tool" that is available from their website.
It is also very reliable in my experience, I even use it as part of my job as a technician.

You might be 1using an older version of the tool. Others were having that exact same issue earlier this yea.r

I downloaded this utility from the Ricoh website, I think it's the latest version, but it's fixed 👍🏻
I love this printer!
My experience with the 305 taught me one thing: when you don't know anything about it, it's better not to touch anything. I wanted to clean the drums and since then it's been a disaster.
These printers are great but sold for professional use, for personal use it is difficult to maintain them.

If your machine is working fine, and doesn't have a problem don't mess around with firmware if you don't know what you are doing.

I did it and it went very well. Updating via printer is user-friendly and quick. The days of the SD card on my mpc305 are long gone 😆

if you use it at home, in a home network, with 1 or 2 PCs, except in extreme cases of know bugs, it is not strictly necessary to update the firmware

Is this a model known to be reliable compared to the mpc 305?

we have several units around, and it seems quite robust in construction, we had no particular problems, apart from some cleaning of the transfer belt blade, and a register clutch that slipped the start of the image, I had to dismantle half the machine, but for the rest, only consumables, which are easy to change, among other things, we havent mpc305 , we have 306 and 307 (not Peugeot, lol) but its similar

be careful, be delicate, when opening and closing the RDF, it has a left hinge, which tends to unthread the screw seats
