    Not printing Ricoh C305

    Hi,

Its pinging but not showing in web browser and also not receiving print jobs. Print jobs sent from computer does not show on machine's panel. Jobs are also not being failed. I have tried re-installing by changing the drivers. Checked settings. Everything seems Ok. Same settings on another machine is working.

    What can be the reason?

Check that the User restriction is NOT active on the machine.
When this function is active, if the print does not include a validation code from an authorized user on the controller you will NEVER be able to print.

Are you sure you are pinging that MPC305? Try turning it off and pinging it again.
If the machine is not seen by the web browser too, it's probable that you are pinging another device with the same ip.

Get into user tools system>interface settings and make sure IEEE 802.11 authentication is inactive.

unplug the copier from the network. and then ping that same IP address. i bet something else on the network is using that IP.

May also want to check SP 7985-001. I think if it is set to 2, ping will respond but nothing else unless you are on a domain using NRS or LDAP/NT authentication and have authenticated with the controller It may also respond to ping if set to 0

User authentication is not active. No password is required to log into machine for copying and scanning. If user restriction is active I am not sure about that. I didn't check. Can you please share the settings ?

2nd thing is I am pinging the correct IP and it is assigned to C305. When I replace the machine with the other one same IP is pinging and prints are coming. So there is no point of pinging an IP address assigned to other device. Web interface is not showing.

Print the SMC SP 599-001 or copy to an SD card SP 5992-001 from both machines then compare to see what is not set the same.

Set a manual IP address, reboot then enable DHCP does the device pull a new IP address?

Also check this setting is inactive as stated above "Get into user tools system>interface settings and make sure IEEE 802.11 authentication is inactive"

IEEE 802.11 is inactive. I have checked it already.

It is possible that you have "Access Control" active which limits which range can access the printer. This limitation doesn't prevent you from pinging it however but it does stop web access and prints.
Print out a configuration page and check the "Interface" section for "Access Control" to see if there is an IP-range entered there.

In access control range there are IPs entered. I think that is the actual reason its not printing. From where this option can turn off?

Access control is a bit annoying if you somehow find yourself outside of it. Easiest method is to take a laptop and directly connect yourself to the ethernet port of the printer, and put both you and the printer within the access limited range.
Then you can access the webpage and from there deactivate access control. Located in Configuration > Security.

As far as I can remember there is no way to deactivate access control from the panel unless you factory reset the machine.

By connecting the machine with laptop directly and assigning the IPs manually as per access control range finally it started Printing. Webpage is also accessible now. But I don't know the Admin Password so that this access control security could turn off.

It's not taking default passwords. Admin/admin.
Admin password can be seen in SMC report? Or factory reset is required? If Yes then what is the procedure?
