dead mpc3003 with a torn fuser belt??

i have a machine 300 mile roundtrip from me that i just rebuilt a fuser with oem fuser belt assembly and was setting up to service.
Upon talking to account i am now told machine is dead, all the outlet, plug, surge protector disconect questions got no results.
Has anyone ever had a fuser take out fuses on the ac controler?
I have not had any dead machine service calls on the 03s series yet.
does the mpc3003 power supply and ac controller cross to the mpc4503?
I only have a spare mp4503 i can parts from and maybe some mpc2003 boards,
    thanks in advance

Other than the controller and maybe 1 or 2 other boards the parts for the C4503 and the C3003 are the same. The C2003/2503 are not.

As for the torn belt immediately after a rebuild, there are 2 lengths of screws used in those fusing units. If you put one of the longer screws in the wrong place it will tear the belt. Been there done that.

      thanks alll
i have not gone to this account since i sold it to them 3-4 years ago and assume the fuser unit is original so just typical fuser crinkle, crack and tear that i have seen many times..
original problem started with poor fusing, then jamming and then some fuser code.
and then somehow would NOT power up..
i just hate these long drives service calls where one little thing you forget would cause you to have to return..
if i was able i would buy a cheap parts machine on the way but not a lot of 03s out there..
so i will bring rebuilt fuser unit, power supply,ac controler and some fuses with me..
if i cant get it running i might just it back to shop..

Professor, I respectfully ask: do you change the fuser sleeve bushings? (taking into account that only the sleeve was changed) the following happened to me: blank copy...I assumed it was an image unit but no...it was the broken sleeve...mp c5503...ok... I only changed the sleeve and 15 days later a blank copy....broken sleeve again...change the sleeve bushings, new sleeve and 3 months go in peace. I don't know if that damage managed to affect its electrical source in any way. manner.

I ONLY change the bearings/bushings when they look bad,i recently had it with a mpc2050 fuser.
this account i have NOT been to since i sold it a few years ago..
as for sleeves failing there is a lot of crap sold from china..
i try to get japan made or japan quality only but it is still a crap shoot as they can tell you anything..
i do not want to take the time to rebuild a fuser sleeve if its 50-50 to fail early..
if it gives me 100k i can live with that...
i change the felt and also use the high temp oil provided...
on accounts far away i will only use OEM...

maybe it was just bad luck, I think that with the rebuilt parts, you will have tested the machine?... if there was a problem, it would have come out immediately, maybe a lamp broke, and blew the card (? )...and yes, the two lamps are connected via CN9 on the PSU, perhaps the breaking of a lamp was too strong a blow for the old PSU's heart(?)

After you replaced the fuser sleeve you left the device working OK ?

I would bet its just the AC power cable loose in the back on the machine.

Re: dead mpc3003 with a torn fuser belt??

so i hit the road at 4am and started to check this mpc3003 machine for common dead machine problems..
cked outlet, checked all fuses, disconnect HDD,and nothing,no lights on any boards either.
and removed bad fuser unit too.
i found out that a worker had pulled the power cord to shut it down while machine was on..why????
                i never know...
i swapped out complete power assembly and presto, leds blinking and machine acts reborn..pop in my rebuilt fuser unit, reconnect HDD and turn on and wow simple service call.
i hate mystery electrical calls but this was as basic as it can be..
AND YES the mpc4503 complete power unit,on the bottom works/fits the mpc3003...
this is for use in north america maybe overseas is different...
