MP 5055/6055 Questions

Hi guys,


My boss is thinking of getting back in to Ricoh’s. Our last venture in to the brand was with the MP4002/5002. I did not care for them. They ran very dirty,even with all oem toner and consumables. The panel UI and WIM where slow as hell, boot up and shut down times took forever, and I could continue bitching. Anyways I have a few questions,




Is @ Remote/FM Audit the only way to get meter readings? Or is there an updated system to get them via email like Konica Minolta and Sharp?


I have found PS3 SD cards on Aliexpress, are the SD cards plug and play with maybe a firmware update? Or are “married” to the original machine theycame in?


Is there compatibility with SMB V2 or better?


Is there compatibility with Scan to Email TLS 1.2 and SSL 3.0 or better?


Is firmware still performed one module reboot next module reboot etc or can I do them all without risk bricking a machine?

The quality issues with those 2 models and their predecessors does not exist in the newer models starting with the XX54 line.

There is a widget that can be added to machines with the Smart Operating Panel that can be programmed to send automatically. If the information added when first installed has been properly removed then the cards should only be married to the model line. Personally I would not trust Aliexpress.

Never was that way unless you were using crappy SD cards. Occasionally there would be certain modules that could not be installed together and sometimes SYSTEM had to be installed first. That all went bye bye when Package firmware was introduced.

We have a ton of the MP 6055 series out & they are really very good.

Drum & fuser usually go over PM life which is what you want & they run very clean unlike the MP 4002 as you experienced.

Keep the firmware updated (yes you can use any SD card, formatted first, except for HDSC cards they will throw an error if you try) then you'll have all the required security credentials like TLS 1.2 etc.

Just turn on auto firmware update, SP5886-111 to 1 it'll stay updated by itself.

Hey Folks, I think I need the SOP designer tool to create and configure the Send Meter widget. Am I correct on this? If so where do I find it? I can't seen to find it on Ricoh's public facing site could some point me to it. Or could someone throw it up on a share drive.

Monthly Meters:

SP5-866-110 "1" (on)
SP5-866-121 (Set destination Email address)
SP5-866-114 (to set date of email - "0" is everyday)
Power Off/On
SP5-866-112 (set to "1" to send test email)
