    MP9000 line on edge

I have a MP9000 getting a line on the edge of the paper and but edge I mean if you have a stack printed out and look at the side of it there is a line. (not on the face)

I have done the 500k pm kit, developer, and a new drum. Any ideas what to try next ?

How accurate are the registration, magnification? I would try doing the CIS adjustments as well. Since you PMed it I assume that you cleaned the mag rollers well. If the machine had more than 4-5 million on the dev unit I would replace it. If less than that I would take it apart and clean it. (Sometimes the bottom lip under both mag rollers gets crud stuck to it and you can't see it. Of course clean the doctor blade as well)

Stop the job before it reaches the fuser

That way you can eliminate fusing area....

clean the transport roller driven at paper exit section...
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

Try the "Pinwheels" on the stripper fingers and the fuser exit (See attached). They can collect toner and tend to stall, if the lead edge hits one of these it may cause a mark which isn't visible on a single sheet.

Is the paper exiting face up or face down?

Is the mark on the lead edge exiting the finisher or on the tail edge?

If face down and tail edge the fault is before or during inversion.

Try taking copies from the platen glass, not the DF (Copies should now be face up). If the mark disappears the problem is in the inverter (Not used during face up copies), if it moves to the lead edge leaving the machine the problem is before the inverter.

If on the lead edge leaving the machine on both face up and face down copies, the problem must be in the machine exit or the finisher (After the inverter)
