    MP7503 Paper Feed Rollers

    Hello everyone,

The paper feed rollers of MP7503 are wearing out after approximately 100,000 prints, whereas the expected target is 1 million prints. I'm curious to know about your experiences with these rollers. How long they last, and do you have any tips or recommendations to enhance their durability?

What kind of paper are you feeding? Is it a coated paper such as carbonless NCR? The chemical used to coat them can cause rollers to fail, specially the blue synthetic feed rollers.

As a rule the 1M rollers seldom make it to 1M without problems. 800K to 900K is what I have normally encountered. The older black rollers should work. They were rated for 300K but usually went 350K t0 400K even with NCR.

The customer is using plain 80gm paper. The rollers start to worn out after 100,000-150,000 pages, causing paper jams.

Unless it is a J003, 004 or 005 it is not the feed rollers.

          Hello
You said "they worn out".... Did you check the roller surface?... Normally they last 500-600k without problems. Check the color and the surface (if you use the blue ones)... I sugvest to clean the blue rollers only with water.

I have experienced the same as you. Instead of using AF030081, AF031082 and AF032080, try using AF030097, AF031097 and AF032098. They are the purple rollers, they last longer, maybe 300,000 as opposed to the 150,000 you're getting now.

Here's what I do. I take the rubber off an af03-0049 and put it on a 0081 hub. I take the purple poly rubber off an af03-1088 and put it on a 1082 hub. I just use the af03-2098 as is and never had this setup fail between PM's. It's a little work but beats driving hundreds of miles to replace 1082,2080 rollers that don't last. The price of a 0049 roller is cheap and the ribs really help with the pickup process.

I'll give you the data from the last intervention I made on the IM7000, a machine similar in terms of speed and mechanical design.
the roller kit lasted exactly 622,473 prints, before starting to give problems, and being replaced, certainly by cleaning them they would have gone up to 100k and more, but the duration target is more or less the same
