Otherwise, stop the machine when the paper is in it to determine if it's drum or fuser.

Everyone reading this should learn from it. Update EVERY Ricoh ever made if you have access to the firmware, this heads off so many problem. Most techs I know just don't do it.

I used to down the newest firmware every Monday morning so that I would have them on my laptop. When CXX03s came out is was every day for a few months just to try to keep up with the SC899 fixes.

Done this for 15 jears... And till now. Some issues are fixed with Firmware Update... But you are right... I also know some techs that dont use to update Firmware

So true, but but not doing regular updates when you really do NEED to update you can run into issues jumping up from factory to later etc.

We have been activating ARFU for several years now when pre-installing the machine. Ricoh has been delivering the devices pre-configured for about a year now. We haven't had any problems with this so far.
