mpc 3000 jamming full colour only!

full colour A4 jams in fuser unit all the time. paper wraps around the fuser belt like its sticking to the rollers.

replaced the oil supply roller and the cleaing roller and still the same.

changed the paper to a higher quality brand and only jams after 3 prints.

black and white is perfectly fine even with a bit of colour onit.

machine has done about 300k. whle fser unit should be replaced at this stage but jus want to know how to cure it without replacing the whole unit.

    Finger pickers?

seen these units last to 400k with only the oil and cleaning roller cleaned.
    But not always.

Given what a major pain it is to rebuild these fusers, I don't blame you for trying to stretch it a bit, but if things are worn enough to start jamming then copy quality issues aren't far behind.

What you're likely to find is either the hot roller or pressure roller has gotten extra spongy and may have even started to crumble around the edges. Instead of solid silicone rubber, these rollers are silicone foam. They don't hold up as well if you try to push them over their PM copies, or overcook them in the machine too long. That's part of Ricoh "turning up the green" on these machines - they heat up faster and give a wider nip band so they can use lower fuser temps. They also don't require as much energy to drive, and use less rubber to manufacture.

        color jams

Hi, I agree with "toner turd" is a game of numbers. any fix is just borrowed time. yes lower heat and you could manipulate your lead edge variables. better to START OVER will be fewer sc's and happier cust in the long run!!!
