ricoh 3035 jamming

according to my logging data most of my jams are at 14.duplex exit 3. in the RTB it is the fusing exit sensor. does anyone know what can cause it to jam? or maybe there is a part that i need to replace.

I've had these jams cuased by a number of things, usually dirty exit rollers, dry pressure roller, dirty duplex rollers or swithches in the bridge unit.

Is it only jamming when on duplex. Maybe it's the pads on the solenoids for the exit junction gates.

Jamming in Duplex Ricoh 3035

Open up the duplex. On the inner door in the upper right hand corner is an accuator arm....check to see if it is broken. I have had this problem several times. When paper comes up through the duplex, it pushes the inner door out, which causes a jam if the accuator arm is broken. Hope this helps.

I'd go with that too. Is the pressure roller quite old?

Ricoh 3035 Jamming in Duplex

Pressure Roller may have flat spots if it's old; if so, replace the pressure roller. Another place to check is the exit gate which is located over the fuser. The exit gate assembly has two solenoids which may have gone bad and are causing the jamming. Also check the spring that comes off near the solenoid on the right hand side. Spring might be dislodged causing the solenoid not to activate.

yes...all good ideas but I'll go with the solenoids "sticky" pads or solenoids.

Once I had this problem on a 15K unit and at the end was one of the invertor gates cracked...so until I removed from the machine I wasn't able to determine the problem.

it is the dulex exit sensor (AW02 0158), you can replace it or re-solder the contacts in the sensor

If only jam in duplex mode I had the same problem, change the solenoid and you will solve the problem.

i had this problem with 40 copies than it was jamming, replaced the 2 motors an solenoids but kept comming back, when on the data say's duplex exit it is most of the time this sensor.

you mean the litle cusions on the solenoid in the paperseperation unit, over the fuser? then it won't go in the duplex, had that today!

I think the reference is to the pads on the guides themselves to reduce noise. They get too hot and melt into a sticky mess and the solenoids try to fire but can't move the guides because they are stuck.
