    mpc 2500 sc 565

Has anybody out there had this code? It's a first for me. I replaced the thermostats and thermistor- no joy. Any ideas please???

this code states the pressure roller lamp stays on for more than 120 sec. have you checked the thermostat and lamp for continuity? if there is continuity, then check for supply voltage to the lamp it might be the psu. good luck.

In the end a whole fuser went in, still the code came up. psu is an expensive option!

This is from the Goose Guide..

        SC565
*Heat lamp consecutive on error - Broken main fuser connection
*Heat lamp consecutive on error - Check HR thermistors with SP1-106 001 (ctr) and 002 (ends)
*Heat lamp consecutive on error - Heat roller lamp defective
*Heat lamp consecutive on error - Power Supply defective

Obviously it's not the fuser parts if it has been replaced, but maybe the connector or power supply.
Don't take that toner with me!

a psu is expensive but if it turns out to be the psu there are repaired psu which can be half the price of new.

I have replaced the PSU for this issue in the past. Hytec does our board repairs at substantial savings from OEM cost.

I have a sick machine with the same code here today. Will report back on what worked. This Goose guide helps a lot, when the Ricoh manual's ideas start drying up

Turns out that both thermal fuses under the pressure roller were open circuit! I am having doubts about the thermistor that controls that lamp! Busy testing with the thermal fuses reset.

Have Found the best thing to try is to replace the 3 fuses and the 2 thermistors.

                    Re: mpc 2500 sc 565

I'm getting the sc565 on a 2500 and I'm having the fading temp on the pressure roller problem, heater lamps heat up ok then drop to about 163 then back to 175 ish so I think that side is ok. The Pressure side appears to heat up quickly then fades away to around 80 before sc565 appears again. Just rebuilt the fuser with all new parts (except lamps) to try and cure. The pressure lamp was around 21 ohms and heater lamps around 8. Are these ok?
                    Will check connectors tomorrow.
                    Cheers

Check the thermostat pressure roller can be wide open or bad fuser connector.

I have had the same code on the C3300. After rebuilding the complete fuser, the pressure roller was melted stuck to the fuser belt, then SC 565 causing dual thermostat to open. Turns out the pressure roller thermistor wasn't touching the roller causing melt down. I bent the metal bracket holding the thermistor up toward the pressure roller for contact.

The metal bracket holding the thermistor is cheap metal, easy to bend causing this problem.
