Ricoh Aficio 1045 Folding paper in a 'Z' shape

Hi, I have this machine that keeps on folding the papers after every few copies which are single sided. The paper folds before reaching the transfer belt since the folded section nearing the lead edge has no writings on it.

In duplex mode it also forms jams in 'A', 'Z' and 'C' after a few successive copies.

What should i do as it sometimes behaves while on other times it poorly misbehaves?

Any help accorded shall be highly appreciated,

    EDutech

IMHO you should replace the feed, transport and registration clutches. Cleaning can help but new ones in my experience invariably work better.

      Clutch part numbers:

Two pieces each AX20-0231 and AX20-0138, or I have been using these newer numbers AX20-0280 and AX20-0281 which may even supersede the prior numbers.

I agree with zed. They are expensive, but will continue to be a nuisance until they are replaced. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hi guys thanks to you all for your individual inputs. I like the seconding part, if the idea is as brilliant as this was. In short replacing these clutches worked miracles. This was very useful guys. Again thanks a bunch.

Agree with the clutches. I would also replace the reg guide bar as static builds on this causing all kinds of jams and especially Z folds. Always works and never comes back until its worn again.

                good luck..........
