[CQ] 775k on a Savin 4045 ESP worth keeping?

Good morning.

I have a customer who wants me to take over their service contract. The call was for CQ. After my initial inspection, I noticed that toner was dumping heavy. This machine has 774k (50k past maintenance due according to history log) He wants to know if this machine is worth keeping. I have no experience with Savins.

Needs full maintenance (Fuser / Drum / DV / Rollers) and any other items needed at 700k +.
Toner is dumping.
Occasional jamming.

If I bring the machine up to par by performing the above service, how much further will this machine go?

They use it mostly for copying checks, prints and Fax.
Approximately 10k per month duty cycle.

It was discontinued in 04 and final parts availability was march of this year. It will need some major repairs soon. I wouldn't put it under contract becasue it will be expensive. but you can still keep it going for a while.

Overall lifetime on that box is one million clicks. I personally wouldn't cover it, but most of the PM parts for the subsequent 8035/45 and E series machines are identical or backwards compatible.

What you could do is charge for the initial repairs to get it up to par to place under a contract and then go from there with a flat rate. Otherwise, this box could easily become a money pit.
