Ricoh 1060 maintenance reset code?

I have a SC545 on the display of the 1060. Cycling power doesn't fix the machine. Yesterday it was fixed while on the phone with a technician who gave me a code sequence to put it in maintenance mode, second screen, turn off and restart. That fixed it. I didn't write down the code. Please tell me what it is? Thanks.

hi if you have this code then ideally you need to get the thermistors replaced by a qualified technician

Thank you. The "secret" code is: Clear (yellow button), 1, 0, 7, hold down the C/ button until menu displays. Select option 5 from the screen display. Turn off machine, wait 10 sec, turn on machine.

Push clear modes (yellow) button Numbers 1-0-7 hold down clear stop(Red). That will get you in service mode then turn off then on.

Try cleaning the thermistors of any hardend toner that may be stuck on them.

As said before change the Thermistors as it will come back again 1

Guys this Code are only used by Service Engineer... Settings Manipulation may caused huge problem....

Clear Modes button
1 - 0 - 7
press hold Clear / Stop Button until menu display.
press Copy Mode on the Touch Screen Panel.
then turn Off/ On the Machine...

but i suggest that you must replace the center thermistor...

A couple of guys in here say thermistors but there was a service bulletin on this machine regarding the thermostats and updated part numbers. The new part numbers are:
AW110066 and AW110064
And if the 545 code keeps comming back after you reset one of the thermostats is open.

Sc 54X codes are normally associated to heat problems/sensor problems in the fusing units. I personally don't give customers the information to reset these codes, I go to visit the machine myself and check the fuser over. Although I do normally try resetting the code first, if it seems to solve the problem I check the fuser over anyway, just to ensure it won't come back. Works half the time, other times the entire fuser is over-life, and end up replacing the Hot Roller, Pressure roller etc.


I'd call a Technictian in anyway, just to double check.

Agree just NEVER give Customers info on resetting Codes !

Problem solved. Did need thermistor.

But if it is our machine, we should have all rights to it, including having the service code. Now, if it was a leased or rented machine, maybe not.

Replace fuser thermostat

by going into service mode and then turning off the machine you don't do anything maybe to gave you a different code after that to reset the SC error code

Maybe so but the fusing unit is a unique device in the avg copier and should be treated with respect.

Its unlikely but if you reset the machine and the machine due to part failure had become live or overheats. You may find your self either finding a bigger bill to repair the copier. That or possibly facing a lawsuit due to endangering health and safety.

I can think of many copiers i have worked on where the "a" level sc resets but continuing to use the copier will damage the copier further.

If i was your copier tech and you were on a service contract if i saw that you had reset a level codes and damaged the machine further i would ensure you paid the full cost of parts and labour.

As you own the machine, the tech is most likely rubbing his hands for all the extra work and parts he can sell you.
