Hey all. I'm brand new to these forums. I have a question regarding scanning on the Aficio MP7001. I need to scan a bunch of pages to PDF, but the model I have access to, the MP7001, does not have the USB or Media Card Reader, so I can't use a thumb drive or memory card. From what I understand, the only way to scan to PDF is if I set up a network folder on the same network as the copier. The problem is, my company only has the copier set up for certain computers (everyone else prints to a different printer, but one without the Scan feature). Our computers are on a different domain, I suppose. Our network tech isn't in today, and I really need to scan these files so I can send them out tomorrow without spending $0.89 per page at Fedex/Kinkos (yes, that's right, no typo, that's their scanning fee!).
Is there any other way I can scan these documents and grab the PDF file today? I don't think I can hook up the USB in the back of the printer to my computer (I think only USB printing is supported, not USB scanning). Any way I could connect the ethernet cable directly from the copier to my MacBook Pro after everyone is done using it later this afternoon? Any ideas are welcome! Thanks everyone!
