I understand. If the line enlarges or reduces the fault is in the optics.

Not to flog a dead horse... I've had dirt and grit on the optics that only 100% alcohol could remove.
One job drove me up the wall. I knew it was optics an only pure alcohol fixed the issue. I must have cleaned those mirrors five or six times with water trying to fix the error.

    Re Dev void:
Wind the dev roller backwards slightly an shake to eject the lumps. If the line moves to another position you know it's a doc blade Dev void. If the lumps can be seen touch a magnetic screw driver on them to remove the lump.

If you have the service manual, the detailed descriptions portion has a good view of the laser projection paths.

Had you included that image with your first post, we would have been able to offer more precised help from the start.

Cyan dev unit, doctor blade contaminated...that's what my money is on

Sp 2109. Use pattern 17, horizontal belt, and print one for each color. This will tell you what unit has the issue.

It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but I never thought (or knew how) to select single colours for the test patterns .
I always just enabled 'single colour mode' on the machine, and made test copies that way too

              Thanks Mika. Very useful!

My guess would be the slit glass. If you are not fimilar with Ricoh color you might not know what the wand is for under the front door. Should be pretty easy to troubleshoot by just getting a visual on the dev. rollers once dissassembled.

What everyone is missing in this thread is that the line only happens on full color picture prints from the computer ..I have tried and replaced all process components and cleaned every inch of the machine ...ONLY ON FULL COLOR PICTURE PRINTS FROM COMPUTER

                        Providing a sample image - always a good idea^^

This might be an obstacle/clogged toner inside a DV unit (probably cyan) or on one of the the laser glasses. The line is appears because a colour is missing wthin a small band - nothing fancy..

Sorry, that still looks like a cyan dev unit problem to me, have you tried doing cyan sky shots, that absolutely does not look like a printing only fault

Then it is likely that the software producing the image is to blame. Or the person who created the image in the first place didn't do a very good job.
That's really weird, too. Any chance you could let us know what software was used to create the image? The only thing I can think of is that Adobe Acrobat requires people to think, and punishes those who do not. But I don't think that is the case here.
