[Misc] Light copies only in the morning MP6001 and Aficio 2075

Hello

I have a very very strange problem, we have to customers , one with an MP 6001 and the other with an Aficio 2075, both told me that the machines make intermittent light copies ( blurred areas on the copy) , but only in the morning , for approxx 2 or 3 hours, and then everything turns ok again (perfect copies).......(!)
Both machines have an ORIGINAL Ricoh D58 Drum........i changed in both machines Charge Grid and corona Wire, i cleaned every exhaust air filter, changed Developer, and cleaned everything .I believe in an humidity issue or some charge problems on the Drum, i write from Sicily, our weather is not like in GB or Germany......so guys...ANY IDEAS?????

Check if there is toner residue build up on the thermistors.

I have seen sunlight on a copier cause weird problems.

Check the environment.

One machine is near a Windows.. But no chance for sunlight to reach inside machine.... The other one is inside a copy-shop.... No window near the machine...... Nobody believes in a humidity issue?...... That causes bad drum charge or something??....or in a defect drum?.

Sounds very much like humidity building up in the machines drum area over night are they switching them off or leaving them on in a un ventilated room over night?

They switch the machine of... But i activate the heaters that turns on when the machine is switched off...... Is it possible that these machines suffer humidity?.....i turned on the fans after the firmware update (there was a tech bulletin about light copies) but the problem starts AFTER the update... I don't think that this is the problem, but i have to find a solution...

please post an image.

Get there in the morning when the machine is acting up and stop the image under the drum that would give you a chance to check if its charge, transfer or fusing in one step.

The you can strip the machine to check for moisture even before you switch it on.

Not so much that. The humidity causes a film of moisture on the drum similar to what you would see on the mirror when you get out of a pleasantly warm shower. If the fuser is the only source of heat in the machine, it takes a while for the film on the drum to evaporate. If this is the case, that's why it takes a while to correct itself.

Are you sure the heaters are working? Did you touch the heaters(or near them) to confirm they are getting warm? Did you plug them in at the power supply? It does sound like moisture on the drum.

If not working check fuse FU1

Im sure the heaters are working and i checked FU1 at my last visit, i'll be there today and try to see if i can see the moisture. I will post a picture of the blurred copy.

Nobody said but, if don't change the drum, this problem won't go away, I live in Brazil and humidity is a known issue here, after I turn on heaters, change filters and make some adjusts on service manual, I always have to change drum, if you have moisture on it for a long period this can damage the drum.upgrade firmware and you will see new options to control fans time to stay on, try to increase that time also.hope this help

Gets very humid here in the summer, we plug the heaters in, turn them on in SP, and turn the humidity setting down to 50%. This has helped. You can tell the heaters are on when you open the paper trays......
