[CQ] Sharp MX3501N no toner to some DV units

    Blk meter 278K Color 77K

Initially Cyan DV almost void of toner. Checked TONER motor was OK. Changed Sensor, no diff. Changed DV UNIT with used with low meter. ALL seemed OK.
(Just in case customer hadn't shook toner properly, put that one aside and put in new cyan toner.

2 weeks later (~300 copier color made) call with magenta doing same. Went through same process. Put in used low meter magenta DV. All OK .

Now 500 color later got call that cyan doing same. Toner motors still OK. pipe for toner into DV unit not clogged.

BTW, customers color is not a heavy fill probably only 2 to 3% (I mention that in regards to number of copies before issue came back on Cyan)

Not certain if High Volt of PC board could be issue.

    ANY IDEAS GREATLY APPRECIATED

    TIA

Have had some issues like this, that particular customer likes to store their toners vertical literally have to bang the toner on the ground to break up the rock that has formed in the bottle.

Change the drum unit first before you try anything else

may be electrode cover leaking also!

This happens all the time. My favorite are the f2-02 codes from people storing their 450nt on end and only running 500 a month so the toner compacts for a year. Trashes the DV sometimes the toner motor, and always makes me want to poop in the trash can.

When I have customers that run minimal color, I suggest that they run a developer refresh (only a single time) once a week.

Essentially what happens is the color developer dies from lack of use. If you agitate it once in a while it lasts considerably longer. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Couldn't they just run a few color prints instead? I ask because I do my level best to keep my customers away from the service menu.

Developer Refresh is a user function in the System Menu. No need to access Service Menu, no need to even log in as Admin. And it's near the top of the menu: System > page 2 > Adjustment/Maintenance > page 2 > Developer Refresh.

Oops! This is a Sharp thread! I misread this as a Taskalfa KM-3551. I suppose you could do 25-01 if that still exists in the service mode. Now I see what you mean. Sorry. =^..^=

It sure does, but I'm not letting my customers into service. Especially on anything newer than a 3501. That's all I need is some smart guy that thinks he's tech savvy because he looked up how to use the charge cleaners messing with my sim settings. Lol
