    Sharp AR-M355 Fuser Issue

Have a problem with the Upper Fuser Roller accumulating bands of toner. The Upper Fuser was replaced about 6-months ago. I have cleaned the Cleaning Roller several times, but the issue keeps on coming back. After cleaning the Cleaning Roller several times with no success, I replaced the DV Unit thinking this would resolve the issue.

    · I haven't known this to happen, but can the Cleaning Roller actually go bad?
    · Is the easiest fix to just replace the Fuser? By the way, In & Out temps are at 195°.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Install the cleaning roller (heat sink roller) for the AR-M350N. It is a solid roller which will clean the whole roller, not just 1" wide bands.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I know I'm bring this thread from the dead but we are having the same issue and have already tried replacing the cleaning roller with one from the AR-M350. Any other ideas what we could try?

I've heard that by changing the fuser temps to 165 degrees can help prevent this. Once the rollers are either replaced or cleaned, with this new temp it might help reduce the buildup.

Also make sure the firmware is up to date.

Use oem toner and do scheduled maintenance too. I recommend using only oem rollers in the fuser. They are way better and last longer. Using 165 can sometimes help. Make sure white tabs are flipped up and loose as well. Make sure when u replace the cleaner roller with the 450 one that the tension springs it sits in are good and that the roller sits firmly in it's orange place holders.

Oh yeah, I agree. I always forget about mentioning OEM toner, because that is all we have, so I forget that others do actually use generic brand toner.

My experience are in agreement whith Mr. Wazza, and Rpn1999 about the use only fuser rolles oem., and the fuser temp is to big important, and of corse the toner.

In my y use oem fuser rollers, and including i use toner katun, and no problem, and i have a costumer that have a center copies that 75% of the work is in duplex, and this center have 10 copieres.

The machines have only used OEM toner and are under contract with us so scheduled maintenance has been done as needed. We are having this problem with more than one machine. We just started putting OEM rollers in the trouble machines and will try using the lower fuser temperature to see if that helps. The firmware is up to date and the techs have checked both the white tabs and tension springs as was suggested.

What's the meter reading on the trouble machine(s)? Make sure the papers a good quality one and NOT inkjet paper or coated paper.

I need to make a point and I'm sure wazza will agree. I have over 700 355/455s on maintenance my highest one with about 3.2 million on it. These machines are like tanks. You put oem supplies in em and do the required maintenance every 100k they run forever. We clean every copier we have that runs any kind of volume say <10k every 45 days. It's not worth using non oem anything on any sharp I've ever seen. Sure they cost more, but using the saves service calls and headaches. There are som companies who don't think the 100-200k maintenance kits are needed. Do yourself and the customer a favor and put em in. If you have to go up half a penny on service per copy do it. If your customers machine is problem free they will sing you praise even if it costs a bit more. Headaches cost alot no matter who gets em. Good thing to remember.
